Real-Life Math -- Solution

You're putting together a negotiating team to fly to a northern town to begin treaty negotiation discussions. First, you make a budget for how much it might cost for all 4 members to make the trip.

If you're away 5 days and 4 nights:

Airfare: $560 x 4 people = $2,240

Daily food allowance (5 days): $60 x 4 people x 5 days = $1,200

Hotel costs: $90 x 2 rooms x 4 nights = $720

Add costs together: $2,240 + $1,200 + $720 = $4,160

It will cost $4,160 to send the 4 negotiators to a northern coastal town for 5 days and 4 nights.
