In general, people looking for work in treaty negotiations have an undergraduate degree. "That's usually the minimum," says Tracy St. Claire. She works for a treaty commission. Often, this undergraduate degree is in history and First Nations' issues.

Many also choose to complete their master's degree in this area. "The more education you have, the more it helps," she says.
