Additional Information

According to the American Association of Oriental Medicine, 38 states require licensure or registration for a practitioner to practice. The remaining states don't allow the practice of alternative medicine, or demand that a physician be involved.

Some schools require applicants to have at least a bachelor's degree, while others want at least an associate's degree. Some demand a certain number of college units for admission to their programs. Schools with an intensive curriculum offer a four-year graduate program leading to a master's in traditional oriental medicine.
