Insider Info

Michael Neff is the executive director of the American Society for Horticultural Science. He says job prospects "seem to be quite positive" with the increased number of positions in landscaping. "The greatest growth has certainly been in the ornamental and landscape areas of horticulture," he says.

"From the professional aspect, we are seeing an increased number of two-year and four-year bachelor program people. The field is wide open, certainly, to general labor."

Earnings and employment information from the U.S. Department of Labor is not available for this field at this time.
