Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You give Arnie a ride and don't let this other person on the bus.

You explain to the woman that you know Arnie, and he isn't getting a free ride. He has promised to pay his fare the following day. Unfortunately, you don't know the woman. It also seems like too much of a coincidence that she suddenly didn't have the money.

This is a real-life decision made by bus driver Bob van Briesen.

"You have to watch," says van Briesen. "Some people try to con you. After a while, you get to know who you can trust and who the regulars are.

"It's OK to sometimes let regulars on the bus because you know that they will pay you later."
