Additional Information

Bodybuilder Patty Marciano says it all comes down to good genetics. "If you don't have them, chances are you will not make it as a good bodybuilder."

Height, weight, joint size, an ability to grow muscle, bone structure, the shape of muscles and looks all matter.

The lifestyle of a bodybuilder depends on a strong sense of commitment, discipline and sacrifice. Marciano estimates only one out of every 10 bodybuilders makes it.

Wayne Demilia, a vice-president with an international bodybuilding group, notes that students wishing to enter this career should be open-minded and be willing to work hard. But above all, they should always put their health first.
