Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You insist that your customers try some of your more artistic shots.

You feel a bit awkward about it, but you tell your customers that you'll do the shots they want. However, you also want them to let you do some shots of your own liking. After all, you're the boss.

The problem is, you're not the boss. The customer is the boss. A couple of the customers go for it, and they like what you do. However, even more of them get annoyed or offended. And they don't come back to you for more business.

Yes, you have a few more portfolio shots, but you have fewer customers.

"Decision making skills are essential, especially if you decide to work as a freelance photographer," says Maria Matthews. Matthews works at Professional Photographers of America, a nonprofit association for photographers. "When you run your own business as a photographer, you need to know which vendors to buy from, how to create studio policies... and even when to walk away from an assignment."
