Real-Life Communication

Summer is always your best tour season. Although you're in business primarily to breed champion racehorses, you find the revenue generated by public tours a nice supplement to your income.

Well, it'll soon be summer and you need to get an ad into the newspapers. Last year, you went with a simple list of prices and contact information. This year, however, you've decided to go with something a little more personal. Here is a list of the services you provide at Pegasus Horse Heaven for all day-trippers:

  • Introduction to the ranching life
  • Crash course in horsemanship
  • Home-cooked meals
  • Guided trails tour
  • Penning of the ranch horses
  • Cattle drive, watch or participate
  • Hiking
  • Photography
  • Wildlife and bird watching
  • Campfire at dusk

"Communicating with people [is] one of the important things in my work," says South Dakota horse rancher Jack Bradt. "You might have the best thing since sliced bread on your hands, but you need to let other people know so they can experience it for themselves. Good relations is good business."

Your ad will consist of one paragraph that hits on all of the things Pegasus has to offer. Make sure to put in the ranch's name (Pegasus Horse Heaven), as well as the contact information and the fact that the price is a "special introductory" one.
