You're an oil well fire specialist and you've been called to help drilling rig employees develop a fire prevention and emergency response plan.

According to regulations, procedures should ensure that responses to emergencies are quick, organized and effective.

They should outline the responsibilities of people on the job. They must provide various emergency and follow-up procedures and they should include lists of emergency contacts.

Emergencies may include a release of hazardous substances, fire or explosion, injuries or fatalities, and natural disasters.

With these things in mind, write a checklist of steps for developing an emergency response plan.
