Real-Life Communication

Space marketers are constantly writing proposals to companies outlining how much a new project will cost and what materials will be needed.

You're going to be building a new ground station (a place where satellite data is received and translated into computer-friendly pictures). Write a short and easy-to-read proposal summary, describing the details below.

Here's what you have to explain to the customer:

  • What the project is (a ground station)
  • Where it's to be located (England)
  • How long it will take to complete (one year)
  • What the total cost will be, explaining each of the following prices in sentence form:
    • Labor costs: 12 engineers, one project manager and three assistants: their wages will be $900,000
    • Equipment costs: $2 million
    • Company fee: $432,000
    • Total cost for the project: $3,332,000
