Additional Information

If you're going to be a space marketer, you have to have a thirst for learning about new technology.

Space marketers need to have a technical university degree. According to space marketer Michael DeSandolis, most have engineering degrees, with an electrical, aeronautical or mechanical specialization. "Lots of others have science degrees such as math and physics."

A bachelor's degree in these areas typically takes from three to five years to complete. Some people get their training in the military. Very few come from a purely marketing or business background because the products they deal with are high-tech.

"A space marketer must know their product, and that means knowing the technology behind the satellite," says space marketer Brian Leadlay.
