Additional Information

You must hold an instructor's certificate issued by the FAA before you can teach other people how to fly.

You can also become a master flight instructor through the National Association of Flight Instructors. But it is not a government-recognized designation.

Industry sources recommend a high school diploma, if not some post-secondary schooling. Indeed, instructor Manfred Loos says his flying school will only hire instructors who have a diploma or degree.

Of course, you must meet all government requirements for becoming an instructor.

In the U.S., you must hold a commercial or an airline pilot's license before you can begin your instructor training.
