Additional Information

Rodeo usually starts in the family, but schools do teach bareback riding, bull riding and clown bullfighting. The Sankey Rodeo Schools travel to a large number of arenas across the U.S.

How does a future competitor decide which school or type of training is best? "Ask around," says Lyle Sankey, who works with the rodeo school. "Ask those who are successful and who are doing it right. Don't ask the guys who can't ride in the pickup without the seatbelt and both doors locked."
