Real-Life Communication -- Solution

You might say:

"I noticed that there is a discrepancy between your recorded data and ours. I'd like to talk about what has happened. You see, NCAA standards stipulate some differences in the way that college statistics are recorded compared to the recording of pro standards.

"For example, when a college quarterback is sacked, it is recorded as negative rushing, while the NFL would record it as negative passing yards.

"This is all explained in the NCAA football standards. I have a copy here for you to look at. I have highlighted the areas that explain the differences.

"Would you mind going back over your recorded data and changing these areas so they will reflect college standards? If it isn't recorded correctly, it could have an effect on our national rankings. Thanks."
