Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You decide to head home and pursue acting there.

This is the real-life decision made by Lynda Clark. Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, Clark had been living in New York City for a few years before she finally decided to go back. So far, it has been a worthwhile decision.

"Making the decision to move back to North Carolina so as to have some sort of quality of life was a big decision. I knew it probably meant that I'd never be successful in terms of fame -- people recognizing me, making lots of money, playing major roles."

That's OK, though, because now Clark has a house with a yard and a few kids. As far as work is concerned, she describes it as a case of being the big fish in a small pond as opposed to the little fish in a big pond (the big pond being New York).

Clark and her husband, who also gave up New York after 12 years of doing soap operas, both work full time by juggling various projects. They direct and perform in plays, teach acting classes and produce small projects, among other things. For example, Clark has worked on the TV series American Gothic, a spooky drama about a small town in -- you guessed it -- North Carolina. She plays the recurring role of head nurse.

Clark loves the challenge of playing different roles and she just wants to be a working actor. It sounds like she made a great decision.
