If you want to work in phytoremediation, you'll want to look for schools running wetlands experiments.

At this point, says wetlands ecologist James Morris, only those with PhDs are getting hired. "I think, as the field matures a little bit, there are going to be even more opportunities for people at a bachelor's and master's level who can apply the technology," he says.

"And I think that there will be programs in universities eventually in the field of phytoremediation, or bioremediation in general."
