River Rafting Guide

Real-Life Activities

Real-Life Communication

You're halfway through a whitewater rafting trip on a cool day. One of your clients, a woman named Ling, is showing signs of hypothermia.

She has a slim build, so she has little body fat to help keep warm. Her skin is a bit grayish and her lips are blue. According to your first aid training, you need to get Ling warmed up right away.

You need to explain to her why you need to pull in to the shore. You want to start a fire and give her a warm blanket and something warm to drink.

Ling insists she feels fine. You don't want to embarrass her or make her angry, but you need to be persuasive. What will you say to her?
