Most eating disorder counselors take degrees or diplomas in counseling or psychology, or may even become medical doctors, allowing them to be psychiatrists.

Some programs can be done part time, or through continuing education. Most workers in the field say that the more education you get the better, and that you should take a variety of courses related to eating disorders.
