Additional Information

A number of credentials are necessary to become a camp director. Because directors are often responsible for children, it's important that they are knowledgeable in certain areas.

First aid training is almost always required. Effective communication skills are also necessary. Camp directors interact with parents, campers and the public on a regular basis.

Other certifications such as qualifications to lifeguard, a driver's license and a degree in outdoor recreation are good.
