Professional hockey players are in the public eye, and they are often asked to give speeches at high schools and civic functions. Players might talk about their team and answer questions about the season. Or, they might tell listeners what it's really like to be a professional hockey player.

"We may go to a high school and give the kids information on what it takes to be a player and the sacrifices they have to make," says Peter Anholt. He is a former coach of the Red Deer Rebels hockey club. "With the age group that I'm dealing with here, 16 to 20, they sacrifice a lot to play hockey."

You're a professional hockey player, and you've been invited to give a speech at your old high school. You'll be talking to a group of students who are interested in playing hockey for a junior team, and then eventually turning pro.

What would you tell them? What is important for them to know? So you don't forget anything important, write down all the points you want to make in your speech.
