Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution
You decide to go to the party.
All you've done lately is play hockey, and you need a break. You need to relax and have some fun, and what better way to have fun than to party with old friends? You deserve it. So, you decide to attend the party.
The party proves even wilder than you'd anticipated. In fact, some guy gets rowdy and starts spouting off to one of your team members, who turns around and knocks him flat. A fight breaks out, and you end up in the middle of it.
The next day, your picture is plastered all over the newspaper, showing you with your arm cocked back, ready to hit a guy in the chin. After all, anything that happens with professional sports figures is considered front-page news.
At practice the next day, you and your team members look quietly at each other while Coach Ramsey walks into the room holding a copy of the newspaper. Reading the article out loud, he takes turns glaring at each player. After he finishes, he tosses the paper on to the floor.
"Anyone whose name I just read in that article or whose picture is in the paper is suspended from the team until further notice," the coach says.
Was attending one single party worth messing up your career? Now it looks like you'll have a lot more time to hang out with your old friends, except they'll be at work while you're off! Maybe you should have obeyed the rules and stayed home.
